HLTV.org – the review of the esports resource

Today, our review is dedicated to the website hltv.org. It is a multi-purpose website, on which you can find out all about CS:GO tournaments.

When you open the website for the first time, there is an impression that it is difficult for perception. Yes, it is, however, this passing feeling passes after a couple of minutes of being on the resource. The main sections of the website:

• Matches
• Results
• Events
• Stats
• Galleries
• Forums
• Bets
• Live

Besides this, the website has a very big variety of various links, which lead to separate pages with detailed information on a topic. It can be safely said that the website is worked well and its status is monitored.

CS:GO news on hltv.org

The section «News» of the website hltv.org is divided into blocks by time, which allows quicker and more effectively move through pages.

At the right of the block, the matches are placed, which will be carried out today and their time. Having clicked on any of the matches, the separate page will be opened, on which the detailed information about a match is represented:

• dates of a match
• teams, which will take part in them
• maps, on which they will be playing
• details of the match
• gaming journals
• each team’s statistics of matches
• teams’ rosters
• the main player
• past matches of teams
• comments of website users

You can make a bet on the team you like right on this page but let’s talk about this later.

At the left of the section «News», you can see the player of the week, the most important match of the week, the rating of teams and the recent events, also you can move to the gallery from here.

The section «Matches»

This section of hltv.org is also divided into three parts: the left, the right and the middle – the main content.

A few blocks are located on the left:

• Special match of the week
• Filters for a match search
• Events
• Status of a match
• Type
• Teams-participants

The following blocks are placed in the middle:

• Live matches – those, which are being played at the moment
• Upcoming matches (there is the list of competing teams, for almost a month ahead).

We see the tag “latest activity” at the right block, that are the last matches and their results by clicking on them.

Results of matches on hltv.org

Let’s go to the tab of results. Here the content part of the website is divided into three parts too but at the left block, we can change a filter by time, which only adds more comfort to the website. In the middle, we see recommended results of matches and also all results of matches over the last 5 days with the whole statistics of matches, rosters of teams, the best players of the match and, of course, comments of website users.

The schedule of CS:GO tournaments

The left block of the content page changed a bit too, the filter by a prize pool and an event emerged. We see current events on the content part of the page – what is going on now and upcoming events, which will be hosted in the nearest future. Dates, a venue, teams, a duration, a prize pool of every event are described here. Having clicked on the name of teams-participants, you can go to the page with the detailed information about a team.

The stats section on hltv.org

We can see the full change of the left part of the content in the tag «Stats», the navigation, the block «Maps», the search statistics emerged here and also many filters for a more exact search of the required information was added. At the main part of the page, we see a block of fast navigation, which consists of:

• Best Players
• Top Events
• FTU (Firepower-Teamwork-Utility)
• Pistol Rounds
• Flashes

The block with the best players comes next. On a player’s page, the detailed information is also noticed: age, a country, a rating, a gaming statistics. The diagram, on which the best weapon is represented, is the next block in the section of statistics.

Galleries

After that, we go to the tab “Gallery” and, funnily enough, see the gallery tab. It is divided into blocks – albums, each of which is dedicated to an event. Having opened an album, we can find out a title of a tournament, a season, dates, a prize pool, a venue and also comments of users.

Forums

Then there is the tab “Forums”, it is the most important part of the website hltv.org. Here you can create your topic for CS discussion and also can ask your questions to the administration of the website hltv.org or you can give them advice on improvement.

Bets

Finally, we have come to the section of bets on CS:GO matches. The table with odds on the nearest matches from all leading esports bookmaker companies is represented in this section. The highest odds on every team are highlighted in the table, which allows finding safe bets.

Streams of matches – the section «Live»

In the live section, you can see a live stream of matches of teams without any delays, advertisements, watch replays and in high quality too. Every player’s money, kills, deaths, a score by maps are described here, a chat is available.

Footer

In the lower part of the website hltv.org – in the footer, you can see a few tabs: Jobs, Contact, Terms, Privacy policy, RSS and also links to the project’s social media: facebook, twitch, youtube, twitter, vkontakte, instagram. It’s worth to read the requirements in the Jobs tab, it is possible that you might find a fob for yourself. In the Contact tab, contacts are divided into 4 blocks for a request on 4 topics: an advertisement, statistics, news, a development, and others. In the tab Terms and Privacy policy, you can see information, which the website saves and learn about the website’s main rules. In the RSS tab, an HTML code of the page is opened.

With regard to the appearance of the website, it is made on a pretty satisfactory level, the hand of the master is obvious. Despite there is a lot of information, the project works without slightest delays, bugs, lags. There is an advertisement on the website but you will not see more than a couple of banners, it doesn’t block the content itself. The product looks nice on devices with small screen resolution, which allows using the website with comfort and convenience on mobile devices. Also, you can check the website by yourself but you will need a lot of time because it is one of the most content-filled and understandable websites.
