PGL Major will be held in Stockholm with spectators
PGL has officially confirmed the holding of the PGL Major in Stockholm. The tournament organizer said that the event will be held with spectators when the arena is full. The venue has been confirmed after months of uncertainty and PGL is now aiming for a full house in the PGL Major Stockholm 2021 playoffs at Avicii Arena.
The final confirmation came after the Swedish government announced the lifting of the pandemic-related restrictions in the country, removing the last obstacle preventing major events from taking place as planned, when indoor events will be allowed from the end of September.
The organizers will start selling tickets for PGL Major Stockholm 2021 on September 22nd and intend to ensure a full house at the Avicii Arena with a capacity of about 14,000 during the playoffs, which will take place from November 4th to 7th.
The championship will witness the return of CS: GO to large-scale LAN events for the first time since the start of the coronavirus pandemic in early 2020. This will be the first Major in more than two years, since the previous StarLadder Major Berlin took place back in September 2019.
PGL Major Stockholm 2021 will take place from October 26 to November 7 in Sweden. 24 teams from all over the world will compete for a prize pool of $ 2,000,000. At the time of this writing, the format of the championship is being specified.
