MOUZ and TYLOO left IEM Winter 2021 at the end of the first gaming day of the championship. At the same time, Vitality and G2 secured their way to the playoffs, arguing for the right to enter the semifinals directly.

NIP - Vitality

NIP and Vitality met in the first semifinal of the upper bracket. However, the Swedish team did not manage to show their game on Nuke against Astralis, actually hanging a white flag after the start of the fight. Well, Vitality very confidently dealt with the NIP on Inferno, having recorded the first defeat in the championship - 16: 6.

Then the teams moved to Mirage, where they continued to beat the Swedes, who finished the first half with only four rounds in defense. However, the NIP managed to impose some kind of struggle after the change of sides, which still did not save the team from defeat. Well, Vitality played the second half very confidently, ending the torment of the Swedes with a score of 16: 9.

Astralis - MOUZ

The fight for the right to leave the championship started on the Ancient map, which became MOUZ's choice. However, the Danes quickly showed that the opponent made a mistake with his choice, having recorded the defeat at the end of the first half - 13: 2. After the side switching, MOUZ players seemed to start waking up until Astralis evened out its economy and closed all issues on the map with a score of 16: 6.

Next, the teams got to Nuke, already traditionally chosen by the Danes. However, this time Astralis showed a confident attack, gaining a two-fold advantage over the side switching. In the second half, MOUZ seemed to start taking rounds. But the advantage earned in the old days allowed the Danish team to throw MOUZ out of the tournament - 16:10.

G2 - Liquid

The meeting started on the Vertigo map, which became the peak of the North American team. However, G2 prepared well for the opponent, having managed to show a fairly strong defense, finishing the half with a minimal advantage. After the side switching, the game continued on an equal footing as the teams exchanged a series of rounds. And yet, in the end, G2 managed to reverse the map's outcome, having issued a victory over the opponent - 16:13.

Then the teams moved to Dust 2, where the Liquid players had the advantage. However, after the changeover, G2 showed a confident streak in defense, leveling the gap. It seemed that the North American team was about to snatch victory until it made a mistake in favor of the opponent. This was quickly taken advantage of by the G2 players, who finally turned the alignment around, securing the second victory in the tournament - 16:14.

TYLOO - OG

The parallel meeting passed without much intrigue, since OG showed a fairly confident game on Mirage, neutralizing all the attacking attempts of TYLOO. At the same time, the European team played excellently in the attack, thereby knocking out the lead in the series - 16:10.

Everything was decided on the map Inferno, now the choice of OG. And if the first half ended with only a minimal advantage for the Europeans, then after the changeover Aleksib and the company showed convincing defense, seizing the fate of TYLOO in this championship - 16:10.
