BLAST Premier Spring Showdown 2022 will start a week later
The organizer of esports tournaments BLAST has published the latest information regarding the holding of its next CS:GO events. In particular, the tournament operator moved the start date of BLAST Premier Spring Showdown 2022 a week later. Such changes in the schedule are caused by the overlap between the dates of the BLAST event and the RMR tournaments ahead of PGL Major Antwerp 2022.
Recall that initially BLAST Premier Spring Showdown 2022 was supposed to be held from April 20 to 24 in a studio format. Despite the fact that BLAST published its roadmap for the championships at the end of January, the PGL studio, which turned out to be responsible for hosting the spring major, decided to hold the second European RMR tournament from April 21 to 24. At the same time, it is noted that the teams from other regions had difficulties with the schedule. In particular, earlier the Lynn Vision and LookingForOrg teams complained about the inability to play at RMR tournaments in their regions. According to the clubs, they are currently in Europe and cannot return to their regions on the dates set for the qualifying championships.
Interestingly, PGL, faced with criticism, has already changed the schedule of open qualifiers for RMR tournaments several times. However, the operator apparently refused to compromise.
Full schedule of RMR tournaments at PGL Major Antwerp 2022:
- America (16 teams): April 11-14.
- Asia (4 teams): April 15-16.
- Europe A (16 teams): April 17-20.
- Europe B (16 teams): April 21-24.
BLAST Premier Spring Showdown 2022 is scheduled to take place from April 27 to May 1. Sixteen teams will take part in the tournament and compete for a prize pool of $135,000.
