ESL hints at next Major venue
Tournament operator ESL posted a presentation video, which probably hinted at the venue of the next major. As it becomes clear from the video, the championship will be held in Brazil, namely Rio de Janeiro. In addition, the video was retweeted by the official CS:GO account, leaving a winking emoticon under the post.
Earlier, the Liquipedia portal published the dates for the CS:GO Major Championship Autumn 2022 — the championship will take place from October 31 to November 13. As part of the major, 24 teams will take part, which will compete for a prize pool of $1,000,000, rating points and a slot at BLAST Premier World Final 2022.
Recall that earlier the tournament operator ESL planned to organize ESL One: Rio 2020. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the championship was postponed several times, and then completely canceled.
At the same time, Valve and the community have repeatedly hinted at a return to the idea of holding a major in Brazil.
The Autumn Major should retain the structure and format approved by Valve in February of this year. According to the results of PGL Major Antwerp 2022, seven teams from Europe and one team from America will get into the Legends stage.
The last PGL Major Antwerp 2022 was held from 9 to 22 May at Antwerps Sportpaleis in Belgium. The winner of the major was FaZe Clan, who beat NAVI in the grand final with a score of 2:0.
