Today, July 7, the group stage of IEM Cologne 2022 will begin. Over the course of four days, the sixteen remaining participants will compete for six spots in the championship playoffs. At the same time, the winners of their groups will directly get into the semi-finals of the competition, thereby becoming one step closer to the coveted victory. We invite you to get acquainted with the participants of the group stage of IEM Cologne 2022 and the first matches that await us.
Participants of the IEM Cologne 2022 group stage
Group A:
- Natus Vincere, Ninjas in Pajamas, G2 Esports and ENCE are the top seed.
- MOUZ, Heroic, Movistar Riders and Vitality are out of Play-In.
Group B:
- FaZe Clan, Team Liquid, Cloud9 and FURIA are the top seed.
- 00NATION, Team Spirit, Outsiders and Astralis are out of Play-In.
All matches of the group stage of IEM Cologne 2022 will be held in the BO3 format (up to two wins). Teams that make it to the final of the upper bracket are automatically guaranteed to get into the playoffs (the winner of this match will proceed to the semi-finals of the championship). At the same time, another ticket to the playoffs of IEM Cologne 2022 will be up for grabs in the lower bracket of the group stage.
