
NAVI wins first victory in ESL Pro League Season 16
NaVi defeated Team Spirit 2:0 at the start of the group stage of ESL Pro League Season 16. After this victory, "Born to Win" became the leader of the tournament table and will now prepare for their next match against Fnatic, which will take place on September 1. In turn, Team Spirit descends into the basement of group A, from where they will try to get out tomorrow by playing with Endpoint.

The first confrontation of the entire ESL Pro League Season 16 started on the Nuke map, which became the choice of the Russian team. But if the starting segment was left for the Team Spirit players, who showed several successful rounds with access to the B site, then closer to the change of sides, NAVI found its game and managed to take the lead - 9:6. After switching sides, the "dragons" tried to get closer to the opponent, winning the pistol series. But here the "Born to Win" joined the game, showing a confident attack and quickly taking the lead in the series - 16:11.
Next, the teams moved to the Dust 2 map, which turned out to be the choice of NAVI. Here, B1ad3's team immediately began to pick up the pace, strengthening their advantage. In turn, Team Spirit managed to turn on only at the very end of the half, managing to close the gap and prevent a shameful defeat - 11:4. After the change of sides, there was no intrigue left from the word "absolutely", since the "Born to Win" quickly rehabilitated for the defeat in the pistol round and ran ahead. As a result, NAVI got a landslide victory in their selection and took the lead in Group A — 16:9.
Note that the best player of the meeting was Perfecto, who scored 1.24. In turn, Team Spirit scored w0nderful, who finished the match with the same rating of 1.24.








ESL Pro League Season 16 runs from August 31st to October 2nd in Malta at the Salini Resort. 24 teams from Europe, CIS, North and South America compete for a total prize pool of $835,000. The winner of the tournament will receive the main prize of $175,000, as well as tickets to BLAST Premier: World Final 2022 and IEM Katowice 2023.
