Vitality advances to the semi-finals of ESL Pro League Season 16

The Vitality team outplayed the Outsiders with a score of 2:0, thanks to which they reached the semi-finals of ESL Pro League Season 16. Here the Danish-French team will play with the winner of the G2 Esports meeting - NAVI. In turn, the Outsiders complete their journey in the championship, taking 5th-8th place and earning $32,500.

The third quarter-final of the tournament started on the Mirage map, which became the choice of the Russian team. However, zonic's men quickly seized the initiative on the server, managing to close half of the defense with a twofold advantage - 10:5. After switching sides, the Outsiders began to close the gap, at some point claiming a strong-willed comeback. However, several rounds won with only one AK-47 allowed Vitality to reverse the game and take the lead in the series - 16:13.

Next, the teams moved to the Dust 2 map, which became Vitality's choice. From the first minutes, the initiative passed into the hands of the Danish-French team, which found the opponent's weaknesses and closed the half in attack with a comfortable advantage - 9:6. After the side switch, the game was divided into several segments, but in the end, the Outsiders managed to transfer the map to overtime. And yet, here Vitality took its toll, thanks to which it made it to the semi-finals of the championship - 19:17.

ESL Pro League Season 16 runs from August 31st to October 2nd in Malta at the Salini Resort. 24 teams from Europe, CIS, North and South America compete for a total prize pool of $835,000. The winner of the tournament will receive the main prize of $175,000, as well as tickets to BLAST Premier: World Final 2022 and IEM Katowice 2023.
