According to sources from Dust2 and the HLTV portal, k0nfig will replace rain as part of FaZe Clan at the upcoming BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2023. This scenario caused bewilderment on the part of the organizers and other participants of the championship, and now, apparently, everything depends on the decision of BLAST.
The day before, the FaZe Clan organization officially announced that rain and coach RobbaN will miss the upcoming BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2023 . While the 28-year-old Norwegian player is expecting a baby, the Swedish specialist will not stand behind his players for personal reasons.
Other information provided by Dexerto reports that the North American organization has entered olofmeister for the championship, while the Dane has been named as a substitute for Heroic. At the same time, FaZe Clan submitted a request to the organizers to change their application, since they have been training with k0nfig for some time.
The ongoing discussions have drawn the ire of some championship participants, with at least one team expressing concerns directly to BLAST for potentially allowing changes to the tournament bid. At the same time, the rules of the tournament series prohibit such changes, especially since the Dane has already been declared for Heroic.
k0nfig started last season with Astralis. However, after several scandals, the 25-year-old Dane was kicked out of the team. Over the next months, the esportsman failed to find a new team, but managed to play with Heroic at BLAST Premier: World Final 2022, replacing stavn.
It is likely that k0nfig's move to FaZe Clan will take several championships, as rain took a long vacation due to the birth of his child. Also, the start of the championship will be missed by head coach RobbaN, who, however, may return to BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2023 at the end of next week.
BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2023 for FaZe Clan will start on Friday, January 20th. The team will play with the North Americans from Complexity Gaming - OG and Team Liquid are also represented in the group.
