The North American esports organization FaZe Clan has introduced a player who will stand-in at BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2023. As expected, it turned out to be the Dane es3tag, who will be forced to replace rain, who left the team due to the imminent birth of a child.
The day before, the FaZe Clan organization officially announced that rain and coach RobbaN will miss the upcoming BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2023. While the 28-year-old Norwegian player is expecting a baby, the Swedish specialist will not stand behind his players for personal reasons.
Initially, FaZe Clan planned to invite k0nfig to the roster, and even received permission from the organizers for that. However, after protests from other participants in the event, the tournament operator BLAST prevented an emergency substitution, citing a set of rules. The logic on the part of the organizers can be traced, since k0nfig was originally announced as a substitute player for Heroic. But, as it turned out later, the Danish club was not going to invite their former replacement to the championship at BLAST Premier: Fall Finals 2022. Nevertheless, Heroic did not have time to add a new substitute, as a result of which k0nfig remained in the application.
In turn, k0nfig himself spent the last week training with FaZe Clan, and was clearly saddened by this decision on the part of the organizers. However, FaZe Clan quickly found a suitable replacement by inviting es3tag, a former Ninjas in Pajamas player, to participate in the competition.
