Tournament operator ESL has officially confirmed that fourteen teams will compete at the upcoming ESL One Stockholm Major 2022. The organizers will not invite new participants to replace teams from China, who, due to the lockdown, cannot apply for visas to Sweden.
Perfect World has announced that Chinese teams will not participate in ESL One Stockholm Major 2022 due to the current situation in China. The Major starts on May 12 with the participation of the remaining 14 teams. We are excited about the revival of LAN events after 2 years!
The day before, the first information appeared that PSG.LGD risks missing the upcoming ESL One Stockholm Major 2022. The management of the eSports club announced this on social networks, adding that the players are in quarantine and at the moment they do not have the opportunity to apply for a visa.
Due to a new outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in China, all teams are in quarantine and now they have no way to apply for visas. Instead of going to Stockholm, the Chinese teams will play in the regional finals, as they did in the first season. DPC 2021/2022 China Regional Finals will be held from May 6th to 8th.
ESL One Stockholm Major 2022 will take place from May 12 to 22 in Sweden at the Hovet Arena Stockholm. Fourteen teams from Europe, the CIS, North and South America, as well as Southeast Asia will take part in the championship.
