ESL One Stockholm 2022: Viewer's Guide
An important period is coming in competitive dota — the main tournament of the season starts. We have put together an impromptu guide for you, which, we hope, will help you deal with all the questions regarding the first "real" Major of the season.
Start of the tournament
ESL One Stockholm 2022 kicks off on May 12th and will run until May 22nd. The first games will start at 12:00 CET.
ESL One Stockholm 2022 Prize Pool
$500,000 will be up for grabs at the tournament in Stockholm. In addition to cash rewards, teams will compete for 3,530 DPC points.
List of ESL One Stockholm 2022 participants
Initially, 18 teams from 6 competitive regions were supposed to play at the tournament. Due to the outbreak of a new strain of COVID-19 in China, 4 teams from there will not reach Sweden.
Thus, 14 teams will play in Stockholm. The full list of participants looks like this:

If we talk by regions, then we get 4 teams from Western Europe, 3 from East, 3 from Southeast Asia and 2 each from North and South America.
Format
Compared to last DPC season, ESL One Stockholm 2022 will bring big changes. So, ESL abandoned the dubious distribution of teams to different stages based on the results of the performance in the group stage: at ESL One Stockholm 2022, all teams start their journey from the group stage.
In groups of 7 teams, Round-Robin is played with bo2 matches. Each team will play 6 games, after which the TOP 4 groups go to the playoffs, the 5th-6th place will play in the lower bracket of the main stage, and the teams in last place are eliminated.
The playoffs will be played in the Double Elimination format. All matches, with the exception of the grand final, will be played in a bo3 format. The decisive confrontation will take place in the bo5 format.
From interesting
- Teams from China will not play at ESL One Stockholm. PSG.LGD, Xtreme, Aster and RNG have already played the regional finals instead of the Major.
- A number of players will not reach Stockholm. You will find all forced reshuffles below:
- Quinn will play as TSM instead of bryle, who has visa issues.
- Astral and Dukalis from PuckChamp will play for Mind Games. Ukrainians Cema and Bignum will not be able to go to Sweden because of the Russian armed attack on Ukraine.
- Ceb will play for OG and N0tail will be the team's coach for the duration of the tournament. The two-time champions of The International will help their club by replacing Misha and Chuvash, who will not be able to get to Sweden.
- Potentially, the tournament could miss Skem from BOOM. According to rumors, the player also has problems with a visa.
The main favorites and outsiders of the tournament
The reigning champions The International Team Spirit have the most chances to win at ESL One Stockholm 2022. The chances of dragons are estimated by a coefficient in the region of 5.5.
Tundra also has good chances to win with Team Liquid. Their chances are estimated by odds around 6.5
The Mind Games team is unlikely to become champions. For the victory of the third team from Eastern Europe, they give a coefficient of 101.
