The group stage took place from 12 to 15 May. Within its framework, the teams fought to stay in the tournament and for the right to enter the upper bracket of the playoffs, which will be held in the Double-Elimination format. In Group B, representatives of the Mind Games team were disqualified ahead of schedule. This happened due to problems with visas for cybersportsmen. Thus, none of the teams from Group B had the risk of being relegated from the championship.

According to the results of the last stage, Gaimin Gladiators, Thunder Awaken, Team SoloMid and Team Spirit took the first four lines in the Group B table, which allowed them to start their journey from the upper bracket. At the time of writing the news, by the way, Spirit has already reached the semi-finals, having beaten Tundra Esports in the quarter-finals of the upper bracket. Team Liquid and Fnatic, in turn, performed worse and took 5-6th place in Group B, and therefore start from the lower bracket. As for Group A, Tundra Esports, OG, BB Team and T1 are in the top 4 and advanced to the upper bracket. BOOM Esports and beastcoast, who took 5th-6th positions in Group A, advanced to the lower bracket, while Evil Geniuses showed the worst result and became the second team to leave ESL One Stockholm 2022 without reaching the playoff stage.
