Valve 's MOBA set a new record for the first time since May 2019. At that time, more than 997,000 people were online at the same time. Over 867,000 people have been seen playing the game in the last month.
This data was shared by the SteamCharts portal, which collects statistics. The reason for such a sudden rise in popularity was the release of the Battle Pass, which appeared in the client on September 1st.
The new Battle Pass added a new Arcana for Faceless Void to the game, and also announced the appearance of two new personas on Phantom Assassin and Crystal Maiden. In addition, Valve added a bunch of other cosmetic items to the Battle Pass, but according to user feedback, the battle pass could have turned out much better.
Valve also added stickers to Dota 2 that have the logos of the 12 best teams from the last Dota Pro Circuit season: PSG.LGD, OG, Team Spirit, beastcoast, Team Aster, Thunder Awaken, BOOM Esports, TSM, Tundra Esports, Gaimin Gladiators, Evil Geniuses and Fnatic. There are 4 quality levels of these same stickers. You can find them in normal, shiny, holographic and gold. Later, Valve will expand the list of stickers.
