We are still reviewing the second game day of the last week of confrontations within the DPC 2023: WEU Upper Division Winter Tour. A confrontation is ahead between Gamin Gladiators and Into The Breach.

Don't let the mediocre match sign fool you. The duel is important, whatever one may say.

For Gaimin Gladiators, it will be an opportunity to stay in the race for a ticket to the first Major of the season. The team comes to the match with a score of 3-2 on the scoreboard and 4th position in it.

Into The Breach are walking on thin ice. The team has statistics of 1-6 and 6th place, and the triumph in the duel against Gladiators can be easily regarded as a lifeline for the newcomers of the division.

We figure out what to expect from the fight and who, following its results, will get closer to their goal, whatever it may be.

Uniform Gladiators

We start the analysis of the duel with an overview of the Gladiators game uniform. They are, of course, a contender for victory.

This is how the bookmaker thinks, giving the success of the “gladiators” a coefficient of around 1.2. So do I.

“Gladiators” show a very tolerable level of play. They are still in the top four teams in the region, but after a successful debut in the new competitive year, they noticeably diminished.

Something too sad prospects loom before the Gladiators in the first paragraph. After all, literally the day before yesterday they did something that was beyond the power of 5 teams before them.

Performance Gaimin Gladiators

We started last season with an unexpected TOP-1 in the Western European DPC WEU 2021/2022 Tour 1: Regional Final. Then there was a good TOP-3 at D2CL Season 7 and second place in the second round of the DPC.

Their first major of the season, ESL One Stockholm 2022, the team finished in 4th place. Very good, as for a debut, but then there was a decline.

The team failed the 3rd round of the DPC, taking 6th place, but retained a slot for the next season. Then there was TOP-6 at Dota 2 Champions League Season 13.

At The International 2022, the team took TOP-9-12, which can be considered an acceptable result.

In the new season, Gaimin Gladiators were baptized by fighting as part of the BB Xmas Show. Despite the problems with the roster and the absence of dyrachyo at the final of the tournament, Gladiators outplayed Team Spirit, taking the championship and getting a big boost at the start of the season.

In the first series of DPC 2023, GG went through a baptism of fire by defeating Entity. The team won the match 2-1.

Next up was Team Secret with former GG player BOOM. Secret didn't manage to oppose anything and lost with a score of 0-2, as in every match this season.

The third series against OG followed a completely opposite scenario. GG lost with a score of 0-2, spoiling their statistics, but without making critical mistakes.

Then Gaimin Gladiators played against Nigma Galaxy. I had to tinker, but the outcome was in favor of GG - 2-1 for dyrachyo and company.

In their fifth match, Gaimin Gladiators faced Team Liquid. Despite the expectation of an easy game for the “liquids”, it didn't happen: on the second map, GG closed out Nish and Huskar's company, which brought them victory. In the end, GG still lost, but hurting Liquid in the 2023 season is already an indicator.

Heroes Gaimin Gladiators

Perhaps the Gladiators are one of the most creative teams of the season. They play DotA different from other representatives of the region with their own characters, but they do not stray far from popular and effective heroes.

The most chosen character is Hoodwink. The support has appeared 8 times and has a 50% win rate.

Next up is Leshrac with 7 spawns and a 57% win rate. The same number of maps were played on Crystal Maiden (7 appearances. 42% of wins).

IO (which is not popular with other teams), Natures Prophet and Rubick appeared 6 times each. The first has a positive win rate of 66%, the other two have parity (50% wins).

Form Into The Breach

Across the river on the battlefield of the Ancients will be Into The Breach. The team in this match got the role of the second violin.

Bookmakers are not ready to make concessions to ITB. The chance of their success is estimated by a coefficient in the region of 4.2.

Into The Breach were blown away. It seems final and irreversible.

According to the last episodes of the team, it seems that the team is over. Not enough pressure, experience, patience.

We do not know the inner workings of the team, but there is a strong sense of hopelessness in recent games. But until recently, Into The Breach showed great promise.

Okay, it's too early to bury, because there is still a game with GG ahead. There was one last opportunity to correct the situation and try to slip past the replays, in which, most likely, ITB will be eaten.

ITB Performance

Into The Breach can be described as a "working" team. They sweated all last season to get into the first division.

We started last season from 6th place in the DPC WEU 2021/2022 Tour 1: Division II, which almost put an end to the team's performance in the DPC ecosystem. Then there were performances at local events, including the TOP-17 at D2CL Season 7.

In April, DPC WE 2021/2022 Tour 2: Division II took place, where ITB took 5th place, after which they signed the current roster, in almost identical form, with the exception of the fourth position player.

In July, the team played at DPC WEU 2021/2022 Tour 3: Division II. The updated roster immediately flew into the TOP-2, which allowed them to be here at DPC 2023.

Before the start of the rating league, ITB played qualifiers for ESL and The International, as well as a couple of local tournaments (TOP-2 1x Series, TOP-3 Last-Last Chance). Qualifiers for the main championship of the year ended for ITB in fourth place.

In the first game of DPC 2023, they played against Entity. The series ended with a score of 0-2, but ITB struggled on the second map.

In the second game of the season, against Team Secret, Into The Breach didn't just struggle. They took out Nigma Galaxy with a score of 2-0, and they, in turn, took the card from Tundra Esports.

Then the Tundra became ITB's rivals. In an absolutely negative matchup, the team managed to win one map against the champions of The International, but they did not reach the full-fledged series.

The fourth opponent of ITB was Team Liquid. “Liquid” uncompromising in the winter round, and therefore there was no talk of ITB winning at least on one map.

After were OG. ITB got smart with the drafts in that series, and their Natures Prophet did not show the proper impact, because of which the team flooded with a score of 0-2.

The icing on the cake, or the final nail in the coffin, was the match against Team Secret. Puppey's team, which was really dead this season, perked up and outplayed ITB with a score of 2-0, thereby clinging to the last chance to stay afloat, but for Into The Breach that defeat became quite painful and could have critical consequences.

Heroes Into The Breach

If GG is one of the most creative, then ITB is the most creative team of the season. It can be seen from the chiropula.

Most Picked Hero - Earth Spirit (6 matches, 16% wins), Nature's Prophet (4 matches, 25% wins), Phoenix (4 matches, 25% wins), Snapfire (3 matches, 33% wins).

History of personal confrontations

Previously, the teams have not met in official games. The level of the teams varies too much and it was impossible to intersect.

Match outcome

I don't expect competition in this fight. Prior to that, ITB had a credibility in all series, but now it has been exhausted.

Gaimin Gladiators, before the Liquid match, also ceased to inspire confidence, however, the card taken from the main leader of the race inspires.

Result: Gaimin Gladiators win 2-0.
