The first season of DPC 2021 for China is almost over. We still have 6 playing days or 7 matches left to watch, one of which will be the confrontation between Elephant and ViCI Gaming.
The two Chinese grandees will come together in an extremely principled battle. Both teams are aiming for a direct hit in the playoffs of ONE Esports Singapore Major 2021, and therefore a very entertaining match awaits us, the outcome of which we will try to predict.
Vici Form
I suggest starting the analysis of the extremely important derby with the form of the nominal favorite of the meeting - Vici Gaming.
Having suffered the loss of the main star in the person of Paparazi Vici at the beginning of the year, they managed to adapt almost painlessly and find a replacement for the departed carry. The team moves quite confidently through the season and before the meeting with Elephant takes the 2nd place of the group.

All matches, of course, were also held within DPC 2021: Season 1 - China Upper Division. The team demonstrates a fairly confident game both in the game with the group's outsiders (MagMa, LBZS) and in the matches with the more eminent members of the Upper Division (EHOME, Aster).

Although in the last 5 matches Elephant is nominally doing worse than Vici, it is worth looking at the teams with which the star five played. The only pass-through match for Elephant took place on January 29th against LBZS.
The rest of the meetings the team held with the giants, where they looked decent (2-1 against PSG.LGD, 1-2 against IG).
Personal meeting history
Quite an interesting storyline is observed in personal meetings of teams. Of the three matches played, Vici won two and Elephant won only once.
However, the most recent meeting (12/08/20) went into the piggy bank just the same Elephant. Moreover, all matches ended on three maps, which once again proves the parity of the two teams.
Match outcome
In such principled meetings between almost equal teams, it is extremely difficult to predict the winner. Statistically, Vici should win, but as they say, there is one caveat.
Elephant is gaining momentum and it can be seen with the naked eye. After a sluggish start (1-2 versus IG, 0-2 versus Aster) Maybe and company got together (2-0 versus EHOME, 2-1 versus PSG.LGD) and they certainly don't want to play Wild Card.
