One Move, like Spirit, have retained their place in the top division from last season. The team finished 5th then, managing to adjust a bit towards the end of the tourney.

For Spirit this match will be their first in the new cycle, but One Move have already managed to earn their first win against league underdog Hydra. Let's see if G's side can continue in the same vein and defeat a top-ranked opponent.

Let's start the parsing of the match by analysing Team Spirit's form. They're widely expected to be favourites in this game.

Bookmakers clearly believe in Team Spirit. The odds on the Dragons' victory are priced at around 1.1.

Such a figure puts a cross on One Move's future attempts to do something in this match. On paper, the teams do differ dramatically in terms of their level of play, but Spirit are far from monolithic in 2023 and still don't look like a team that will dominate the domestic league, let alone the international arena.

Team Spirit finished 2nd in the DPC 2023: EEU - Upper Division. In their home league, the team won 6 matches, losing only 1.

Spirit played in outside tournaments like: BB Xmas Show and BB Universe - Comics Zone. Both commercial championships Spirit finished in second place.

In the group stage of the Lima Major 2023, the Dragons lost only 1 series. They lost on the first day of games to Gaimin Gladiators, which gave them passage to the main stage of the competition.

In the first round of the playoffs, Team Spirit played against Shopify Rebellion. Despite pre-match favourites, the Dragons lost not least because of Arteezy's performance.

In the next match, Spirit faced PSG.LGD. "Dragons" went 2-1 on the tour, although they lost on the first map to PSG.LGD rather than winning to Team Spirit.

The collapse (not that hardliner) happened in the second round match of the lower net. Spirit sensationally lost to Talon Esports, finishing top-8 at the end of the Lima Major 2023 without earning DPC points.

Spirit's approach to drafts has not changed much since the end of DPC 2023: WEU - Upper Division. "The Dragons are still happy to use Tusk (9 games, 77% wins), Snapfire (9 games, 77% wins), Rubick (8 games, 75% wins).

Slightly less frequent picks are Mirana (6 matches, 50% wins). Natures Prophet, Sniper (6 games, 60% wins each) and Tiny (6 games, 40% wins) are even less common in spades.

One Move Form

One Move will be on the other side of the barricades. The team is tipped to be the underdog.

And they are predicted with a huge gap. Bookmakers have absolutely no faith in the success of One Move, and odds on the positive outcome for them is at a mark of 6 and a bit.

A figure like that makes it hard to doubt: One Move need to put in a Herculean effort to defeat Spirit. That's a tall order, but there's still room to believe it'll be a one-card showdown.

OM can clinch the match thanks to their relatively high level of chemistry. Even last season, they showed a good level of teamwork, often bringing problems to the title teams where nobody was expecting them.

The squad was completed before the DPC started in 2023 and underwent a baptism of fire in the form of the first round of the top division in Eastern Europe. Yes, the results back then were not the best, but now there is every chance of improving the team's productivity and achieving a better performance at the end of the second cycle. They can be helped in this by the recent addition of Coach G.

One Move's performance

One Move finished last season's DPC season in 5th place. The team won 2 matches and 5.

One Move last round DPC managed to beat Darkside and Nemiga Gaming, which eventually led them to a replay for 5th place. One Move won those replay matches, further indicating the character of the team.

After DPC 2023: EEU Upper Division - Tour 1, the team took part in the Games of Future 2023 local tournament. Winning the four-team mini-event against the only at least somewhat serious opponent was no problem.

In the first match of DPC 2023: EEU Upper Division - Tour II, the team faced the underdogs of the tour - Hydra. The match ended 2-1 in favour of OM, but was a tough one, with the first map won in 59 minutes and the match point in 40 minutes.

In patch 7.32 and in recent tournaments, One Move are playing meta, but not without experimentation. Mirana (4 games, 50% wins), Rubick (4 games, 50% wins), Lycan (3 games, 66% wins), Storm Spirit (3 games, 66% wins).

Tiny (2 games, 100% wins), Ember Spirit (2 games, 100% win rate), Enchantress (2 games, 50% wins) appear in spades.

History of head-to-head encounters

The teams have played twice during the 2023 season. Both games were won by Team Spirit: At BB Xmas Show they were shut out 2-0, and in the first round DPC lost by one card.

The outcome of the match

In this clash, a bet on Team Spirit to win seems to be the only true choice. Given the overall level of the teams, that will most likely turn out to be the right decision.

However, if Team Spirit win, it won't be by two cards. One Move have the nudge and will be a partial problem for TS, as they already were in the last DPC cycle. I believe in a card from the G wards.
