Digest of the third week of the spring split: LPL, LCK and LEC

All over the world, the spring stage of League of Legends tournaments from their own developer Riot Games, together with local partners, is now taking place.

So far, only the group stage is going on, where the teams are trying to score as many points as possible, and now the third week has come to an end, after which the players will have a little more than a week of rest until the next meetings. The entire group stage will take nine weeks.

What happened during the third week of the Spring Split? How have the leaderboards changed? Who seems to be the favorite? In this digest I will try to answer these and other questions, read on!

LPL Spring 2022 - China

Traditionally, let's start with the Middle Kingdom. Still the largest competitive region in the world. While only 10 teams participate in other splits, there are 17 in China. Moreover, over the past couple of years, there has been a tendency that some of the strongest teams in the world come from here, such as the current world champions EDward Gaming.

In general, the week passed quite calmly, but not without surprises. If earlier we watched as many as 18 matches a week, then this time we limited ourselves to only 8. Because of this, this week has become the most unloaded.

Again Oh My God surprise everyone, this time with the ambiguity of their performances. At the beginning of the gaming week, they managed to lose to LGD Gaming, which are considered to be much weaker. And immediately after such a loss streak, take out Top Esports with a score of 2:0.

The second "surprise" or rather "breakthrough" was the victory of the outsider team ThunderTalk Gaming. They were able to snatch victory from Anyone's Legend.

But LNG Gaming and Royal Never Give Up took the first places in the standings with a score of 5-0 and 5-1 in meetings. LNG defeated FunPlus Phoenix in an equal match, and RNG stopped Bilibili Gaming's streak.

LCK Spring 2022 - Korea

We are smoothly moving to another region of the Asian League of Legends - Korea, the homeland of the most popular and media players, as well as the most "skilled" competitive region according to the community.

Unlike China, the Korean Spring Split has evenly distributed matches - 10 for each game week. So the week passed relatively calmly, without much surprise.

T1 continue to increase their streak of victories - six in a row, out of six meetings. “I told you!” – I hope that until the end of the split, Faker and the company will continue to please us with success, because even before the start of the season I predicted their strength, despite the opinion of bookmakers and analysts about the leadership of Gen.G.

Speaking of Gen. G Esports. The team is really strong, one of the main favorites of the tournament. They were very confident against all the rest of the team, but this week they caught their first defeat - from KT Rolster. And next week they will meet in battle with T1, where the "boss" of this split will be determined.

Nonghsim Redforce performed well in the second week, but dropped two places on the list this week. And DRX, on the contrary, took 2 places to the top of the standings.

LEC Spring 2022 - Europe

We finish the digest with a review of the events of the spring split from Europe, where quite important changes have taken place since the previous year that affected the LEC.

As in Korea, the spring split of the European League is fairly even, albeit dynamic. Unlike Bo3 in Asia, there is a series of fast Bo1s here. Five matches a day, two game days for the whole week.

Rogue, Rogue, Rogue… The team has been one of the big favorites of the split until this week. Now they are the nominal leader of their region. They beat other favorites who were on par with them - Fnatic. Later, they defeated Team Vitality, finally confirming their status and now they single-handedly take first place with a score of 7-0 in matches.

Fnatic, in turn, dropped to second place, because after the defeat from Rouge, they also lost to the renewed G2 team, after which they shared second place with them.

For G2 Esports themselves, the week went diagonally opposite to the guys from Fnatic. Two victories that brought them second place and level with one of the favorites.
