Greetings to all League of Legends esports fans! At EGamersWorld, together we continue to analyze the events of LEC Summer 2022 and make our predictions. Let me remind you that this is the largest League of Legends tournament in Europe, and €200,000 EUR and three places at Worlds 2022 are at stake.
G2 Esports vs Fnatic
The most interesting match of the day in the LEC
So we finally got to the most delicious and interesting match that we had at the end of the day. G2 Esports vs Fnatic - two top teams in Europe will once again sort things out and find out their strengths. And I want to say that this match does not have such a clear favorite as in the previous ones, but we are talking about a meeting with G2, right..?
G2 Esports Uniform
Winner of the previous LEC Spring 2022 split, runner-up at the Mid-Season Invitational 2022, and Europe's reference League of Legends team that has been dominating the home scene for many years.
Yes, the team had difficulties in the last competitive season, but they were able to overcome them, which resulted in a new roster. They did it very well, replacing all players except for the two most influential roles in the game: caPs in the mid lane in conjunction with the old Jankos in the jungle. Other roles were filled with very capable and younger players.
After the spring split and the first two weeks, they are quite rightly considered the strongest team in the LEC at the moment. They are good at everything from drafting to implementing even unusual ideas. Sometimes a team allows itself to take something amazing within the meta pro scene and even win, earning style points. And caPs can now be safely called the European Faker.
They are 4 - 1 in matches, having blown off Team BDS once in an amazing way. Perhaps they underestimated their opponent. They still have a match with MAD Lions ahead, which will change the result, but not the morale and strength of the team.
Compound:
- BrokenBlade - top laner
- Jankos - forester
- caps - mid laner
- Flakked - bot laner
- Targamas - support
Fnatic form
Semi-final of LEC Spring 2022, runner-up team on par with G2 Esports and Rogue. A very stable and strong LEC and European League of Legends team in general, as far as we know it since 2010.
They put together a good roster, which was shown for the first time at this year's spring split, where they replaced everyone except the old man and team leader Hylissang, who has been at the base for almost 5 years. They tested their real strength at LEC Spring 2022 and now they are ready to work for the result again, having prepared.
They opened the first week with a victory over one of their main rivals Rogue, which was already a very good result, but later they caught 2 pockets from Excel and MAD Lions, where their former mid-laner Nisqy plays. Otherwise, weaker teams dominate without any problems.
But now the moment has come to meet someone even stronger than Rogue. Let's see how they do it.
Compound:
- Wunder - top laner
- Razork - forester
- Humanoid - mid laner
- Upset - bot laner
- Hylissang - support
Meeting history
Unlike all previous matchups, here both teams meet more often in the playoffs, which speaks of their real competitive power, at least in their region.
Fnatic 0:3 G2 Esports – LEC
Fnatic 3:1 G2 Esports – LEC
Fnatic 1:0 G2 Esports – LEC
Fnatic 0:1 G2 Esports – LEC
Fnatic 3:2 G2 Esports – LEC
We can say that the teams play with varying success among themselves, but everyone knows that G2 last season was far from the best, but now they have gathered their strength again.
Match outcome
Of course, like many bookmakers, I will say that G2 Esports is the favorite here. But how much stronger they are than Fnatic is hard to judge. G2 has an order of magnitude better roster, their form is also at its peak now. But their opponent is far from the last team in Europe. I would say that here 70% to 30% in favor of G2.
Outcome: the meeting will go to G2 Esports
