We close the second day of the week, this time the top 2 outsiders of the first week will fight against the reigning champions who have not lost their grip.

Ultra Prime players seemed far from the worst team at the beginning of the tournament, but it turned out that first they met with LNG Esports, and later Top Esports, who are a cut or even two heads higher than them.

High morality is one of the most important qualities for a battle, as it used to be in the Middle Ages and wars, and now when e-sportsmen meet at the LPL Spring 2022.

I'm afraid that specifically the morality of the guys from UP is completely absent. Although they were objectively the weakest team in all the previous and upcoming matches, the realization that the chances are disastrously small, despite the efforts, hits the moral component a lot.

Perhaps just such an unsuccessful start will make one of the complete outsiders out of a potentially average team.

Form Ultra Prime

Medium-low strength team within the Celestial Empire pro-scene and LPL splits.

Their roster was obviously strengthened by a new mid-laner represented by Cryin from RNG and two new coaches. The main line-up itself looks good, but implementation and teamwork take time, as well as understanding from coaches.

When players catch the courage, they can defeat teams stronger than their own, as has already happened several times, but more on that later.

I have already said that UP's accomplishments ended with regional favorites like IG or FPX. Serious teams have not yet succumbed to them, as happened in a recent match with LNG. Top Esports continued the series of defeats on the favorites, however, they managed to take one card away from them.

Now the guys are literally waiting for the “final boss of the level”, which cannot but put pressure.

EDward Gaming Uniform

The reigning champions from EDG played the last time at Worlds 2021 with such a roster as they are now, and since then they have not yet rolled out their main roster anywhere. At NEST 2021 and Demacia Cup 2021, they entered different players in different combinations, but even so they managed to perform well.

As part of the LPL Spring 2022, they played with a relatively average team, but even so they showed that no one lost their grip and everything goes according to their dictation and according to their rules.

Then there was a match against, in my opinion, the weakest team in the entire LPL Spring 2022, which is absolutely not indicative.

The only thing we haven't seen yet is Xiaoxiang. We may yet see a replacement top laner in this split, but it's hard to predict when.

Meeting history

During their history of confrontation, the teams met in battle 7 times on the LPL and NEST splits. No one will be surprised if I say that EDG has been winning with a crushing score all along.

However, UP managed to get two wins in a row against EDG, just at the last NEST. But it is worth clarifying that the main “champion” line-up was resting, and a random set of players played on behalf of EDG, one of which has now become a replacement.
