In just a few hours, the Rocket League Championship Series 2021-22 - World Championship - the main event of the competitive season in the Rocket League discipline, will begin. Until August 14, the best teams on the planet will compete at the Dickies Arena for a prize pool of $2,085,000. Format of the Rocket League Championship Series 2021-22 - World Championship
The championship will be held in several stages:
- Wildcard Stage: August 4-7, 2022.
- Group stage: August 9-13, 2022.
- Playoffs: August 14, 2022.
As part of the Wildcard stage, sixteen teams that failed to receive seeding based on the results of the competitive season will take part. Here, participants will be offered a classic Swiss bracket with matches in the BO7 format. Eight teams that get three wins will advance to the next stage of the Rocket League Championship Series 2021-22 - the World Championship.
At the group stage of the championship, eight seeded teams will join the participants from the Wildcard stage. The remaining teams will be divided into two equal groups (8 participants each). All group stage matches will also be played in the BO7 format. The top four teams from each group will advance to the playoffs.
The Rocket League Championship Series 2021-22 - World Championship playoffs will offer the remaining teams a classic single elimination bracket with BO7 matches.
