ESL Challenger Anaheim 2022 Goes Online

The organizers of ESL Challenger Anaheim 2022 announced changes in the format of the championship. Initially, the tournament was planned to be held in North America, but due to a difficult situation in the healthcare sector, as well as the cancellation of a large-scale festival from DreamHack, the organizers decided to hold ESL Challenger Anaheim 2022 online.
The championship will be held on a European server, so all teams representing other regions will have to look for a place in Europe. ESL promised to provide the participants with a bootcamp, covering the costs of the teams for flights and accommodation. The organizers also announced the change in the name of the championship, which will henceforth be called ESL Challenger 48.
Recall that at the end of last season, qualifications were held in four regions. Extra Salt, 9z, ORDER and Double Poney received a ticket to the championship. The remaining four participants in the championship will be determined by the method of direct invitations.
ESL Challenger Anaheim 2022 will take place online from February 11-13. Eight teams will compete for a prize pool of $ 100,000 and points for the ESL Pro Tour table. The winner of the championship will receive $ 50,000, as well as a ticket to ESL Pro League Conference Season 16.
