IEM Road to Rio 2022 European RMR A has ended. As part of the championship, which was held from October 4 to October 9 in Malta, sixteen teams from Europe and the CIS fought for eight tickets to IEM Rio Major 2022. Based on the results of the event, eight strongest teams were determined, which formed the first group of participants of the upcoming Major. At the same time, FaZe Clan , Ninjas in Pajamas , Sprout and Team Spirit secured a direct hit on the "legends", thus gaining additional time for preparation. Well, we propose to sum up the results of the last RMR tournament and introduce all the "lucky ones".
The two strongest teams of the tournament were FaZe Clan and Ninjas in Pajamas, who did not lose a single match on their way. However, according to the calculation of the Buchholz system, the wards of RobbaN managed to break into the first place, since all the rivals of FaZe Clan ended up in the TOP-8 of the championship.
The teams Sprout, Cloud9 and Team Spirit made it to IEM Rio Major 2022 with a "3-1" result. But if the Danish team ensured advance to the "legends" of the major, then the last teams had to play a face-to-face meeting. Here, the "dragons" turned out to be the winner, who defeated Cloud9 with a score of 2:1 and also proceeded to the "legends" of the upcoming IEM Rio Major 2022.
The last participants of the major from RMR A were the Bad News Eagles, GamerLegion and fnatic teams, who got their third wins the day before and guaranteed a place in the TOP-8 of the tournament. In turn, the teams B8, 1WIN, forZe, G2 Esports, Astralis, Eternal Fire, ECSTATIC and Aurora Gaming were left without the right to play at IEM Rio Major 2022.

IEM Rio Major 2022 will take place from October 31 to November 13 in Brazil at the Jeunesse Arena and at the Riocentro convention center. As part of the championship, 24 teams from the CIS, Europe, North and South America, and Asia will compete for a prize pool of $1,000,000, ranking points in the BLAST Premier table, as well as tickets to BLAST Premier: World Final 2022 and IEM Katowice 2023 for the winner.
