Gladiators becomes DPC WEU 2021/22 Tour 1 Champion: Regional Finals

DPC WEU 2021/22 Tour 1: Regional Finals has come to an end. In the championship, which was held online from February 11 to 13, the top four teams from the first DPC season 2021/22 in Western Europe fought for a prize pool of $100,000, as well as precious ranking points. The winner of the tournament was the Gladiators team, which outplayed Team Liquid in the grand final with a score of 3:1.

The tournament for the future winner started with a relatively quick victory over Tundra Esports (2:0). However, in the final of the upper bracket, the team turned out to be weaker than Team Liquid (0:2), after which they fell to the lower bracket. Here Gladiators confidently dealt with OG (2:0), thanks to which they got a chance for revenge. In the final game, the team was an order of magnitude more interesting than the opponent, thanks to which they deserved a victory over Team Liquid (3:1).

Thanks to this victory, the European team moved up to the second line in the 2021/22 DPC season standings with 430 points at its disposal. However, the alignment of forces may change in a week, when the Regional Finals will be held in the remaining three regions.

• 2nd place: Team Liquid — $25,000 + 130 DPC points.
• 3rd place: OG — $15,000.
