Open qualifiers for ESL One Malaysia 2022 start today. Qualifiers in South America and Southeast Asia will start first. In general, they will be held in all major regions in Dota 2.
According to the rules of the qualifiers organized by ESL, anyone can take part. The maximum number of participants in one qualification is limited to 512 teams. The format of the tournament is the Single-Elimination bracket. All matches, except for the semi-finals, will be held in bo1 series. Decisive matches will be played up to two victories.
From the first open qualifier in each region, 2 teams will advance to the closed stage, and from the second one, one team will get a slot in the closed qualifiers. In the closed qualifier, 3 best teams from the open qualifiers will meet with five invited teams. As a result, the winner of the closed qualifier will take part in the main stage of ESL One Malaysia 2022.

- South America: Open Qualifier #1 & #2 - July 18-21
- Europe/CIS: Open Qualifier #1 & #2 - July 21-24
- North America: Open Qualifier #1 & #2 - July 21-24
- China: Open Qualifier #1 & #2 - July 21-24
Recall that ESL One Malaysia 2022 will be held from August 23 to 28 this year at the Arena of Stars, Genting Highlands, Malaysia. 12 teams will compete for a $400,000 prize pool.
