Just a few hours remain before the start of the main event of August in Dota 2 — PGL Arlington Major 2022. Over the next eleven days, the best teams from Europe, the CIS, China, Southeast Asia, North and South America will fight for a prize pool of $500,000. In this regard, we offer you to get acquainted with all the necessary information that will help prepare for the start of the championship.

Only four teams received an invitation to TI - Thunder Awaken, PSG.LGD, TSM.FTX and OG. This means that of the 17 participating teams, 14 are vying for at least a Top 8 spot or higher to earn their spot at TI.

Format of PGL Arlington Major 2022

Group Stage - August 4-8, 2022:

Two groups of nine/eight teams each.
One circular round.
All matches are played in BO2 format.
The top four teams from each group advance to the upper bracket of the playoffs.
Teams that take 5th and 6th places in each group advance to the lower bracket of the playoffs.

The remaining teams are eliminated (five teams in total).

Playoffs - August 9-14, 2022:

Grid with double exclusion.
All matches, with the exception of the Grand Final, will be played in BO3 format.
The Grand Final will take place in the BO5 format.

PGL Arlington Major 2022 will take place August 4-14 in North America at Esports Stadium Arlington. The total prize fund of the championship will be $500,000. Seventeen participants of the last Major tournament will compete for the champion title, 820 rating points of the DPC 2021/2022 season, which will help them get to The International 2022.
