Thunder Awaken Secures Spot for The International 23: South America's Growing Dominance in Dota 2

A new addition to the lineup of participants for the prominent Dota 2 tournament in South America in 2023 has emerged. The squad, Thunder Awaken, has successfully secured a position within the qualifying rounds.
Following a defeat against Keyd Stars in the winners' semifinals, the roster led by Alexey "Smiling Knight" Sviridov found themselves relegated to the lower bracket of The International 23 qualifiers. Subsequently, Keyd Stars went on to become the inaugural team from the region to earn a spot in the championship.
In a series of elimination matches, Thunder Awaken exhibited their prowess by conquering Qhali, Mad Kings and AcatSuki. This impressive performance earned them the secondary slot representing South America in The International 23.
The ultimate standings of the participating teams are as follows. Notably, for the year 2023, Valve made a significant decision to allocate two slots for The International to South America. This strategic choice was based on the region's remarkable achievements in major tournaments.
