Participants of LCL Spring 2022 demanded that Riot Games stop cooperation with Russia. This was announced by the Ukrainian esportsman Imperial, who plays for the Dragon Army team.
Most LCL and Open Cup players who do not have Russian citizenship united with the demand for Riot Games to stop any cooperation with the Russian Federation in order not to pay taxes there, thus not financing the war against Ukraine, and move the LCL to any other civilized country, in which broadcasting in Russian is possible (Moldova, Lithuania, Latvia, Ukraine, and so on). We did not involve players from the Russian Federation in the creation of this letter, because we understand that this may not be safe for you. I am sure that many of you, the opportunity to conclude contracts in international currency and potential bootcamps/playoffs in one of the listed European countries would also like it.
In a joint appeal, players from Moldova, Lithuania, Latvia and Ukraine also demand that Riot Games move the summer and subsequent splits to another country where broadcasting in Russian would be possible. At the same time, players from Russia were not involved in the circulation.
Recall that earlier the organizers of the LCL Spring 2022 decided to cancel the championship. In addition to the LCL, Riot Games refused to host the VALORANT Regional Leagues 2022: Milestone Stage 1 for the CIS and the Wild Rift tournament.
