DRX eliminated Gen.G from Worlds 2022. Team Deft advanced to the grand final of the World Championship for the first time in the history of the club.
Before the start of the match, DRX were in the status of an absolute outsider: they were opposed by the current LCK champions from Gen.G. The status of the latter did not help them get to the decisive confrontation of the season.
After a peremptory defeat on the first map and a disastrous start on the second one, DRX got a second wind. Zeka, Deft and BeryL gave everything to make it to the grand finals, and their efforts did not go unnoticed.
Reverse Sweep in the quarter-finals and a comeback after the first card dealt in the semi-finals send DRX to the finals of Worlds 2022. There they are already waiting for the “great and terrible” T1.
Gen.G, despite an excellent summer split in South Korea, failed to break the TOP-4 threshold at the World Championship. The team knocks out at the semi-final stage, earning $178,000 at the event.

The Play-In stage will take place from September 29 to October 4 at the Arena Esports Stadium in Mexico City, and the group stage will take place from October 7-10 and October 13-16 at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden. The quarter-finals will be played at the same Hulu Theter from October 21-24, the semi-finals will be hosted by the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, and the final will take place at the Chase Center on November 5 in San Francisco. As part of the championship, 24 teams from all over the world are fighting for a total prize pool of $2,225,000.
