Cloud9, Outsiders, G2 Esports and fnatic became the first participants in the playoffs of ESL Pro League Season 17

The first week of ESL Pro League Season 17 has come to an end, following which the teams Cloud9 , Outsiders , G2 Esports and fnatic became the strongest in Group A, making it to the playoffs of the competition. While the "clouds" knocked out a direct ticket to the quarter-finals, and the Outsiders made it to the second round, G2 Esports and fnatic teams will start their journey from the first round with the top and bottom seeds, respectively. In turn, the Evil Geniuses, IHC Esports, MIBR and Eternal Fire teams completed their performances within the championship, unable to break through.

Cloud9 turned out to be the best representative of group A, which turned out to be stronger than Evil Geniuses (2:0), G2 Esports (2:0) and Outsiders (2:1) on their way. On the conditional second line is the team Outsiders, who managed to beat IHC Esports (2:0) and fnatic (2:0), but lost in the final match to Cloud9 (1:2).

The G2 Esports team also made it to the playoffs from Group A. After the starting victory over Eternal Fire (2:0), the team unexpectedly lost to Cloud9 (0:2) and fell into the lower bracket. However, here the "samurai" managed to outplay MIBR (2:0) and fnatic (2:1) in order to limit themselves to a slight fright and continue playing within the championship in March.

The last representative of the playoffs was the fnatic team, which began its journey in the group stage with a victory from MIBR (2:0). However, further the European team lost to the Outsiders (0:2) and fell into the lower bracket. Here, keita's wards coped with Eternal Fire (2:1), but then lost to G2 Esports (1:2) and fell off into the "Last Chance" bracket. Still, the last attempt turned out to be successful, as fnatic managed to beat IHC Esports (2:1) and Eternal Fire (2:1), making it further along the tournament bracket.

ESL Pro League Season 17 runs from February 22 to March 26 in Malta. As part of the championship, 32 teams from the CIS, Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia and Oceania are competing for a total prize pool of $850,000, as well as tickets to IEM Cologne 2023 and BLAST World Final 2023 for the winner.
