FaZe Clan win ESL Pro League Season 17
FaZe Clan are the winners of ESL Pro League Season 17. In the championship final, RobbaN's wards defeated Cloud9 3-1 (Overpass, 16-13; Inferno, 16-9; Mirage, 11-16; Ancient, 16-11). With this victory, the team also won their fourth Intel Grand Slam season, earning one million dollars in gold bullion.
The tournament began for the European squad with two easy wins over Rooster (2-0) and Ninjas in Pyjamas (2-0) in the group stage. However, in the top-flight final, the team could not cope with Vitality (0-2), heading into the 1/8th final of the competition.
However, here FaZe Clan proved stronger than FURIA (2-0), FORZE (2-1) and Natus Vincere (2-1) to reach the grand final. Here, RobbaN's charges outplayed Cloud9 (3-1) to become ESL Pro League Season 17 champions, earning a total of $1,200,000.
ESL Pro League Season 17 took place from February 22 to March 26 in Malta. The 32 teams from CIS, Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia and Oceania fought for a combined prize pool of $850,000, plus trips to IEM Cologne 2023 and BLAST World Final 2023 for the winner.
