IEM Rio 2023, the last major championship before the Paris majors, is about to begin. Not every team has dared to come to Rio de Janeiro, but the organisers have still managed to put together a solid line-up of competitors. Therefore we would like to introduce you three favourites of the championship that will close this weekend.

FaZe Clan
For the second year in a row FaZe Clan has been a favorite of any championship they decide to play in. Yes, the group has had some problems recently as they almost missed the trip to Paris. And yet in March, RobbaN's wards managed to win the Intel Grand Slam with a solid performance on the EPL.
Now FaZe Clan can breathe a sigh of relief, but the team's main stars can play in this format. In other words, without undue pressure, the team can open up and play in new colours. Taking the transience of the event into consideration, a cold shower of RMR tournaments will only benefit the players.
Heroic
You can't accuse the Danes of underestimation and not caring about the tournaments. In the RMR tournament, Heroic earned three straight wins to take the slot for legends and have a rest. However, the rest didn't last long, as Heroic had to fly to Rio de Janeiro. But given that the Danish squad have been spoiling stability, the boys could be in contention for the championship this time around.
NAVI
The latest clear favourite is team NAVI. "Born to Win" have not failed so far, but they're not over the top either. An outlet Long Corner last RMR tournament, where the team even swatted FaZe Clan. On the other hand, NAVI is traditionally a contender for success, as even with the young s1mple and electroNic are able to override any shortcomings in terms of experience. All in all, a light group together with excellent form will definitely contribute to the success of NAVI.
