Royal Never Give Up continue their march to the championship at Worlds 2022: group D results
On the night of October 17, the group stage matches ended in New York. The last two slots in the playoffs were played by teams from Group D.
The fourth basket ended quite predictably. Representatives of China and South Korea passed to the main stage.
The final round of the group stage round robin was opened by 100 Thieves and CTBC Flying Oyster . The match ended with the victory of 100 Thieves, where the “thieves” managed to get even with the Taiwanese for the defeat on the first game day of group D.
The defeats of CTBC Flying Oyster continued in the second match of the round robin. The PCS team could not cope with the LCK champions represented by Gen.G Esports.
In the next two matches, we watched the attempts of 100 Thieves: first we played against Royal Never Give Up , and then we tried to improve our position against Gen.G Esports. Both giants of the League of Legends turned out to be stronger than their American counterparts, although 100 Thieves had a chance for a comeback in the match against RNG.
Group D's penultimate match was between Royal Never Give Up and CTBC Flying Oyster. The Mid-Season Invitational champions naturally outplayed their rivals.
The last scheduled match in Group D was the confrontation between RNG and Gen.G Esports. The South Korean grand beat RNG, thus getting a chance to earn the championship in the group in replays.
In tiebreakers, the situation has not changed. Gen.G proved to be stronger again, this time beating RNG even faster.
At the end of the game day, we got the final picture of group D. The leaders of Gen.G and RNG going to the playoffs, at the bottom of the table are 100 Thieves and CTBC Flying Oyster, who left the World Championship 2022.

The 2022 World Championship runs from September 29 to November 5 in Mexico and the United States. The Play-In stage was played from September 29 to October 4 at the Arena Esports Stadium in Mexico City, and the group stage was played from October 7-10 and October 13-16 at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden. As part of the championship, 24 teams from all over the world are fighting for a total prize pool of $2,225,000.
