IHC Esports and Grayhound reach the final of the upper bracket of IEM Road to Rio 2022 Asia-Pacific RMR

The first game day of IEM Road to Rio 2022 Asia-Pacific RMR has ended, as a result of which the teams IHC Esports and Grayhound got their first wins and reached the final of the upper bracket. In turn, the teams JiJieHao International and Rare Atom went to the lower bracket, where they will get another chance to get to IEM Rio Major 2022.

IHC Esports - JiJieHao International

The first match of the championship started on the map Ancient, which became the choice of the Israeli team. At the same time, JiJieHao International showed a quite confident start, having managed to get a minimal advantage before the switchover — 8:7. However, in the second half, IHC Esports players still managed to seize the initiative, and at the same time took the lead in the series — 16:14.

Next, the teams moved to the Nuke map, which turned out to be the choice of IHC Esports. There was no intrigue here anymore, since JiJieHao International showed weak defense and actually signed their defeat - 11:4. Well, after the change of sides, the Mongolian team confidently finished what they started to get their first victory at the RMR tournament — 16:4.

Grayhound - Rare Atom

The next duel began on the Inferno map, which became the choice of the Chinese team. At the same time, Grayhound had a very successful start on the server, not only winning the first half, but also managing to accelerate in the attack, and then take the lead in the series — 16:9.

Next, the teams moved to Ancient, which turned out to be the choice of Grayhound. However, here the game turned upside down, as the Chinese seized the initiative and created a rout - 16:2.

Everything was decided on the Vertigo map, the first half of which ended with a minimal advantage in favor of the Chinese team. After switching sides, the Grayhound players woke up and brought the matter to overtime, where they were able to break the opponent and get the final victory in the series — 19:17.

IEM Road to Rio 2022 Asia-Pacific RMR takes place from 7 to 9 October in Melbourne at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. As part of the championship, four teams from China, Mongolia, Australia and Israel are fighting for two vacant tickets to IEM Rio Major 2022.
